Alex Deiser is an emerging artist who was born and raised in Linz, Austria and moved to the United States at the age of 24. He has been a photographer all his life and was fascinated by finding images in our daily life that are part of the architecture and fabric of daily life. Seen The Unseen is a fantastic collection of photography that was taken over the past 8 years.
Alex Deiser’s style photographs depict an attempt to reconnect with the surroundings in which he sees reflections of life; the photographer challenges the viewers to look at the photography through his creative eyes and ask his audience to let imagination flow. The photography presents a challenge to emerge into Alex’s vision and creativity and take a different look at a steel door, a pool of flowers, a tree stump, an intra coastal bridge, a whole in the wall and many more. Each image has a story to tell which attempts to reconnect with everyday life surroundings that become reflections of life. Alex’s photography challenges each viewer to look at the art with their creative eyes and let imagination and thoughts flow.
Alex’s images are photographs, printed on canvas that are then further worked as paintings. Clear paint is used to stylize or emphasize aspects of the photographic materials, to add texture and layering to reproduce the original inspiration. This process is a hybrid between painting and photography which Alex calls “Painting with the Camera”
